Hey Bakersfield! We’re Jim and Erica, your friendly faces behind The Ultimate Drive. Over a decade in this sun-soaked city, and man, have we built some lasting memories and friendships. Here’s our tale of how we turned our love for golf—and each other—into your ultimate chill zone.

A Leap of Faith and a Love for the Fairway

Jim’s been a golfer at heart ever since he can remember. Whether it’s that perfect swing or just a casual putt, he believes the driving range is a place where each swing has a story. Erica, well, she was more of the queen of the golf cart, and making sure the fun were kept 100!

One day, when Jim found out our now-home, the former driving range, was closed, he thought, “Why not make this dream a reality?” Backed by Jim’s business prowess and Erica’s knack for hospitality, we took a leap of faith.

Every Business Is a Team Sport

Hayden, our ever-reliable son, joined us on this journey from Day 1. Starting with grounds and maintenance, he’s now more like our co-pilot, steering this fun ship alongside us.

And let’s not forget Ellie, our wonderful daughter. For the first 3.5 years, she was our youngest brand ambassador, so to speak. She not only helped out customers but also became a friendly face for all the families who came in. Ellie added a dash of youthful exuberance that made The Ultimate Drive feel even more like home for everyone.

Since swinging open our doors, we’ve been humbled over by the love and loyalty from you, our extended family.
